Econfina River State Park lies on the Gulf of Mexico at the mouth of the Econfina River near Lamont, preserving 3,377 acres where river, coast, and wetlands converge. Its landscape includes pine flatwoods, oak and palm forest, and expansive salt marshes dotted with pine islands, supporting wildlife and distinctive shoreline scenery. The area is known for water- and trail-based recreation, including birding, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and picnicking. Concessions are available, and it is open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown for a small entrance fee.
