Fish Lake Wildlife Area is a protected tract in Burnett County, Wisconsin, centered on clear-water Fish Lake and managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Public ownership began with tax-delinquent land and purchases in 1945, with restoration aimed at returning the landscape to conditions believed to resemble about 1850, before the first human settlements reached the area. By 1975, a master plan guided a much larger property that now includes habitat management, a state natural area, and a wildlife refuge zone. Part of the Glacial Lake Grantsburg complex, it supports woods, wetlands, open water, waterfowl habitat, game fish, and diverse birdlife.
