Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in eastern Nebraska lies along the Platte River west of Fremont and northwest of Omaha, and serves as one of the region’s main outdoor recreation destinations. Managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, it includes 20 lakes that support fishing, camping, swimming, and boating. Powerboating is allowed on lakes 10, 15, and 20, while the others are limited to non-power craft and electric trolling motors. Anglers commonly catch largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. The area also offers 202 RV campsites with electrical hookups and 240 primitive campsites.
