Stone from the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, was donated by the Flight 93 Chapel in Shanksville; a limestone fragment from the impact zone of the Pentagon was provided by the Pentagon Renovation and Construction Program; and a piece of steel girder from the World Trade Center Towers in New York City was donated from steel recycled into a 9/11 monument.
