Joe Louis, "The Brown Bomber," was remembered inside and outside the ring for conquering adversity with the fierce heart of a true champion. He was celebrated internationally for compiling a record twenty five consecutive title bout victories without a defeat as undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. He was cherished locally for countless charitable contributions to the community while training on this very site at Doc Bier's legendary boxing camp. Joe Louis was and is a champion, patriot, and friend of Pompton Lakes and all Americans.
