This one room schoolhouse has stood on this knoll near the old Garfield Farm since the late 1850’s. After the Village of Moreland Hills was carved from old Orange Township in 1929, its first meeting was held in the home of Mayor Frank Lynch. Meetings continued in the homes of mayors and councilmen until July 1, 1932, when the schoolhouse became the home of the Moreland Hills Village Council.
