The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University is a 100-acre botanical garden and arboretum in Stillwater that combines public display with university plant study. Located just west of campus and open daily from dawn to dusk, it grows more than 1,000 species of herbaceous and woody plants. These are divided between the five-acre Oklahoma Gardening studio gardens and areas devoted to turf and nursery research. Its varied display spaces include annual and perennial gardens, as well as a water garden, rock garden, butterfly garden, wildscape garden, Japanese tea garden, and yearly changing theme gardens.
