This building served the citizens of Grayson County since 1935 as a county jail and sheriff's office. In the fall of 2016, it was renovated and repurposed as the Grayson Agriculture and Technical Education Center through the vision of the Grayson County Board of Supervisors and the support and efforts of community partners including the Cooperative Extension, county staff, Virginia Tech, 4-H, the agriculture community, USDA-RD, the Grayson County Public School's Career and Technical Education Center, VTIC, numerous volunteers, the United Way of Southwest Virginia, and NRVRJ trustees. It now serves the community as a one-stop technical education, training, incubation, and meeting center supporting small business and the agriculture community's entrepreneurial, education, training, and workforce development needs for generations to come.
