Little Dry Run Wilderness is a 2,845-acre protected area in southwestern Virginia at the eastern end of the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area near Speedwell. Named for the stream that runs through its enclosed watershed, it was designated by Congress in 1984 under the Eastern Wilderness Act and is managed by the U.S. Forest Service to remain in a natural state. Known for quieter scenery and rich biological diversity, it includes cove forests, remnants of old-growth near Sindion Point, a native trout stream, and habitat for wildflowers and birds. Limited access, chiefly by the 4.4-mile Little Dry Run Trail, helps preserve its remote character.
