James "Pate" Philip State Park is an Illinois state park extending across parts of DuPage and Kane counties. First known as Tri-County State Park, it was later renamed for Republican politician James "Pate" Philip. An important public feature of the park is the Bartlett Nature Center in the visitor center, operated by the Bartlett Park District. The center offers natural history exhibits, a museum, and environmental education programs serving schools, scouts, and other groups.
