Early prominent physician Dr. G.A. Wedemeyer, a native of Burton in Washington County, came to Taylor in 1905, and by 1915 this site was occupied by him. The hospital was continuously operated until 1957, after which it became a retirement home. Its exterior remains in the original style, while the interior has been modernized.
