Danny Wuerffel was perhaps the most decorated player in Florida football history. He was Florida’s second Heisman Trophy winner in 1996 while quarterbacking the Gators to the consensus National Championship. He led the orange and blue to four SEC titles and two National Championship games, was a first-team All-America selection in 1995 and 1996, and was a two-time recipient of the O’Brien National Quarterback of the Year Award. He was also the first Heisman Trophy winner to receive the Draddy Trophy presented to the nation’s top football scholar-athlete and was a two-time Academic All-American. In his career, he threw for 10,875 yards and 114 touchdowns, and he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
