Peavy Arboretum is a 40-acre arboretum in Corvallis, Oregon, operated by Oregon State University as both a public garden and a managed collection of trees and other woody plants. Dedicated in 1926 and named for George W. Peavy, it began with close ties to forestry education. From 1933 to 1942, it served as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, whose crews planted trees, expanded the nursery, built Cronemiller Lake, and created roads, trails, and firebreaks that shaped the site. Returned to the College of Forestry in 1964, it remains significant for its public access, university stewardship, and landscape formed by both academic forestry and CCC work.
