Irish Bend Covered Bridge, a wooden covered bridge near Corvallis, Oregon, was built in 1954 to carry Irish Bend Road over a slough of the Willamette River near Monroe. After the road was realigned in 1975, the bridge lost its original function and deteriorated. Though listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, it was dismantled in 1988 to make way for a concrete bridge. A local preservation effort then saved it: Benton County, Oregon State University, and the Irish Bend Advisory Committee helped reconstruct it in 1989 on university land. Removed from the Register after relocation, it was listed again in 2013.
