In 1955 the Craighead family purchased this store, which for over four decades served and intrigued children as well as adults. Partial records show previous owners as E. F. Nichols at the original site in 1905, Boone Styron Dry Goods circa 1917, Ellis and Warwick Dry Goods, and Ellis Department Store.
