Snowbank Mountain
Nature
Snowbank Mountain is a 12,089-foot summit in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, within the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness of Custer National Forest. Part of the northern Rocky Mountains, it rises in a high, rugged alpine setting that helps define its character. A small glacier, Snowbank Glacier, lies immediately southeast of the peak. The mountain and its surrounding terrain are preserved in designated wilderness, forming part of one of the region’s most remote alpine landscapes.
