Arkansas’s largest aviation museum in Fayetteville occupies a rare surviving 1940s wooden hangar at Drake Field that served as headquarters for a military aviation training post during World War II and is listed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places. Founded in 1986 and expanded through a 2012 merger with the Ozark Military Museum, it preserves aircraft from the 1920s to the present, especially Golden Age civil aviation and military aviation from World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. Its holdings include notable aircraft, engines, military artifacts, and exhibits on prominent Arkansan aviators, while the hangar also functions as an event venue.
