Cedar Chalet Bakery is the oldest operating bakery in Plumas County. It was built by Carl Giese in 1955, and the site at the corner of Hwy 36 and Old Hwy 89 was formerly called Carl’s Corner. The bakery was first run by Mr. Murphy, whose first name is unknown, and it has been owned and operated by Ed and Marsha Groover since 1978.
