Founded at 707 Broadway in 1932, Paducah Community College is Kentucky's oldest non-denominational two-year college. Originally private, Paducah Jr. College was a municipal institution from 1936 to 1968. From 1949 to 1953, the college became the focal point of the NAACP's successful efforts to integrate higher education. Since 1968, the school has been part of the Community College System of the University of Kentucky.
