The House of Cash in Hendersonville, Tennessee, served as both a museum devoted to Johnny Cash’s life and work and the business headquarters of House of Cash Inc. Owned by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, it occupied a two-story building originally constructed in 1960 as the Plantation Dinner Theatre. After purchasing it in 1970, they transformed it into a public showcase and an active center for family business operations, employing about 30 people. The property also housed House of Cash Records and recording studios, and in 1980 the historic Amqui Train Station was moved there for use as June Carter’s antique store. The museum had closed by 1995.
