Reflections Memorial Park was dedicated on July 4, 2011, in honor and memory of the men and women of the Estelline community and surrounding area who served their country in war and in peace, with special remembrance for those who were killed in action: Alvin Ness, John P. Ryan, Alvin S. Anderson, Dale L. Fredrickson, Lloyd E. Eisnach, Naice Verhoek, Ronald W. Davis, John Tuin, and Arthur Bruinsma. The site expresses gratitude for their sacrifice and freedom, affirms that they are not forgotten, and includes an extensive roll of veterans from the community representing service in conflicts from the Civil War to later wars and peacetime service in branches including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, Army National Guard, Army Air Corps, and Army Air Force. A tablet was quietly dedicated with honors on June 10, 2020, adding newly listed veterans and recognizing that men and women would continue to be added as they serve their country and community. The memorial also includes prayers for worldwide peace, safety for veterans, and God’s love, along with the verses of “The Mansions of the Lord” and the Lord’s Prayer.
