The Good Building was built by industrialist George S. Good of Lock Haven and was recognized as the main Business Block of A.E. Patton's new town. Good, along with A.E. Patton and other investors in the Chest Creek Land and Improvement Company, promoted Patton as a Town of Importance in central Pennsylvania. The gray sandstone used to construct the building was quarried along the Beek Creek Railroad west of Patton between Thomas Mills and Westover.
