Community buildings belonged to the community, were larger than a single family home, and served different purposes. They could have been meeting places for discussing issues within the tribe, religious buildings, places where healing ceremonies were held, and spaces for winter storytelling and gaming. In all likelihood, these structures served multiple purposes within the group. Archaeological investigation has located and identified multiple community structures on several archaeological sites, including one that is the largest of its kind ever recovered in this area.
