Colville Covered Bridge is a nineteenth-century covered road bridge on Colville Pike over Hinkston Creek, about four miles northwest of Millersburg, Kentucky. Built in 1877, it is one of only 13 surviving covered bridges from the more than 400 that once stood in the state. The bridge measures 124 feet long and 18 feet wide, with the roadway about 28 feet above the water. Its Burr truss with multiple king-posts reflects practical engineering of the period. The enclosed design protected the timber and joints from weathering and moisture, and the boarded sides and shingled roof also helped prevent horses from shying at the drop below.
