The Robert L. Shepherd Desert Arboretum, properly known as the Santa Clara City Arboretum, is a desert arboretum in Santa Clara, Utah, established by local artist Robert L. Shepherd. Designed with interpretive paths winding through desert terrain and around lava flows, it reflects the area's distinctive landscape. By 2012, it had been closed to the public for restoration after a series of wildfires. Along the Santa Clara River, non-native tamarisk had displaced native vegetation and later burned, prompting the city and volunteer crews to remove the invasive plants and work to restore the damaged river corridor.
