The Pioneer Builders established Greenwood Masonic Institute from 1867 to 1881 one quarter mile west, and Round Rock Institute from 1881 to 1891 one half mile south, under the auspices of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 1881 to 1887 and the Southern Presbyterian Church from 1887 to 1891, built for the people by the people of Round Rock and vicinity.
