THE STORY
Narrated · Plays hands-free in Travel Mode
Acadian refugees came overland in 1756-57 to this area of Louisiana. In the vicinity was a 1762 grant to Jacques Cantrelle, Sr., of France, for whom the church and parish were named. This section was once included in Les Oumas, Eveche of Quebec.
