Confederate States ships engaged in the defense of Charleston Harbor included the iron clads Palmetto State, Chicora, Charleston, and Columbia. Forts and batteries engaged in the defense included Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, Fort Johnson, Fort Pemberton, Batteries Wagner, Gregg, Rutledge, Marion, Bee, Simkins, Marshall, Haskell, and Beauregard, Steven's Iron Clad Battery, the Floating Battery, and Battery Lamar at Secessionville.
