George "Randy" Rapson was a lifelong resident and businessman of Harbor Beach, born February 5, 1955, to George and Shirley Rapson. As he grew up, he was active in Boy Scouts, Little League, Babe Ruth, and high school sports. After graduating from Harbor Beach Community School in 1973, he joined the family business, Rapson Electric, and also drove a school bus until 1975, when a diving accident in the family pool left him a quadriplegic. He remained an active and positive member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Harbor Beach community, coaching Babe Ruth baseball teams, singing and narrating in the Community Choir, attending many home and away games as an avid Harbor Beach Pirate fan, and serving for many years as president of the Harbor Beach Community School Alumni Association. He eventually took over Rapson Electric and continued sharing his knowledge and humor with others until his death in April 2015. Remembered for compassion, joy, laughter, service, care, and love, he inspired the community with his favorite saying, "Build a bridge and get over it!"
