Roaring Point Park
Nature
2
Roaring Point Park on the Nanticoke River includes tidal and non-tidal wetlands, upland forest, coastal dunes, and beach that provide habitat for white-tailed deer, osprey, migratory and year-round resident birds, and nesting diamond back terrapins. This fragile ecosystem is protected by avoiding walking over the dunes and by removing all trash. Acquisition of Roaring Point was funded by Maryland Program Open Space, and the park is owned and maintained by Wicomico County.
