Gilman Park Arboretum in Pierce, Nebraska, is a 14-acre arboretum arranged around Bill Cox Memorial Lake. Established in 1993, it blends a botanical garden with a walking landscape, centered on a 1.2-mile path that winds through its collections. The site contains 647 woody plants, including 243 labeled varieties of trees and shrubs, as well as more than eighty varieties of perennials and ornamental grasses. Its plantings are divided among several themed areas, including the Entrance, Butterfly, Historic Bridge, Wildflower and Ornamental Grass, and Xeriscape gardens, combining display gardening, plant identification, and lakeside park scenery.
