From distant Texas, the greatest migration of men and cattle in the history of America passed over this trail. Pioneer cattlemen traveled this way on the Old Texas Trail from 1866 to 1897, and Captain D.H. and J.W. Snyder, Texas Trail drivers, brought the first herds of Texas cattle to Wyoming in 1866.
