Alkali Falls is a six-tiered cascade in Oregon’s Rogue–Umpqua Divide Wilderness, just west of Mount Bailey and Diamond Lake along Oregon Route 230. Set in Alkali Meadows, it drops a total of 510 feet, including the 130-foot Upper Alkali plunge, making it one of Oregon’s taller cascades. The water is associated with Alkali Creek, a narrow stream that drains into Muir Creek, a tributary of the Rogue River. Reached from the Alkali Falls trailhead on U.S. Forest Service trail No. 1055 off Forest Road 6540-900, the falls are notable for their height, stepped form, and wilderness setting near central Oregon’s volcanic landscapes.
