Lieutenant Colonel Frank B. Humphreys lived from 1903 to 1917 and served as captain and major in the Medical Corps of the Indiana National Guard, organizing the medical detachment of the 3rd Infantry in 1910, serving on the Mexican border in 1916, becoming a major in the Medical Corps of the U.S.A. and surgeon of the 137th Field Artillery, 38th Division, in 1917, and a lieutenant colonel in the Medical Corps of the U.S.A. in 1918 during World War service. His wife was Ethel Long Humphreys. Also associated with the family were Robert Humphreys, who lived from 1835 to 1869 and served as sergeant in Company H, 155th O.V.I., and Sarah Carpenter, who lived from 1840 to 1901; their children were Emily M., born in 1863, Charlie C., born in 1865, and Fannie, born in 1869.
