Blue Mound is a summit in Vernon County, Missouri, standing 928 feet above sea level and also appearing in some records as Blue Mounds or Twin Mounds. Its name reflects the bluish hue visible from a distance, a distinctive feature that set it apart in the surrounding landscape and gave the hill its local identity.
