Ritner Creek Bridge, a covered bridge in western Oregon between Pedee and Kings Valley, was built in 1927 by Hamer and Curry Contractors from Oregon State Highway Commission plans and named for pioneer Sebastian Ritner, who arrived in 1845. Originally part of Oregon Route 223, it was later altered so larger loads could pass through. The bridge became especially significant as Oregon’s last covered bridge to carry a state highway. After being declared structurally unsafe in 1974, it was saved by local voters, moved downstream in 1976, and preserved as a historic bridge. It joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
