Harvey Short Murdoch, 1871-1935, came from Brooklyn, N.Y., and as Field Secretary of E. O. Guerrant’s Society of Soul Winners founded Witherspoon College in 1902. It later became the Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency. The Log Cathedral was built in 1907, and Murdoch served as pastor until his death. To Buckhorn and Eastern Kentucky he brought a love for baseball, for education, and for God.
