During the Vietnam War, from March 1962 to January 1973, Harrison County honored veterans who offered and gave their lives for their country: Clifton Frederick, Jr.; David Glenn Woodruff; Paul Blount McKinley; Paul Johnson Lively; James Harvey Bennett, Jr.; Charles Arthur Whalen; James Omer Fryman; David Morgan Walters; and Danny Thomas Jett. They served in the Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps, and were remembered in sacred memory as those who preserved peace in our time.
