In 1880, James Sprague built this cabin on land he owned in Springfield Township, about 6 miles from here. The cabin was constructed using pine, poplar, and oak that grew on the Sprague property, and its notching is dovetailed. The property remained in the Sprague family for four generations. In the early 1980's, Bob Evans purchased the Sprague property and donated the cabin to the Farm in 1992, when it became part of the reconstructed Adamsville Village.
