The Gauley Bridge War Memorial honors the brave men and women of Gauley Bridge who gave their lives so others might be free. Dedicated by the Town of Gauley Bridge on May 30, 1988, it invokes the memory of a silent battlefield, the long-cooled smoke of guns, the dim echoes of cannons, and thousands of white crosses honoring the dead.
