Penrose Peak is a mountain in Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, within the Rocky Mountains of the western United States. It is among the many high summits in this long range, which rises sharply above the surrounding basins. The peak was named for Senator Boies Penrose of Pennsylvania, an avid outdoorsman who took hunting expeditions in the area. It shares its namesake with Mount Penrose in British Columbia, Canada.
