J.M. Neighbor Pinnix founded Pinnix Drug Store on this site in 1904. Originally a wooden structure, the Sapp Store, this brick building was erected circa 1925 with additions constructed in the 1930s and 1950s. Until its closing in 1986, Pinnix Drug Store remained "The center of activity in Kernersville" for over 80 years and 3 generations: J.M. "Neighbor" Pinnix; his sons, J.M. Pinnix, Jr. and Joe Leak Pinnix, Sr.; and his grandsons, Johnny (J.M. III) Pinnix and Joe Leak Pinnix, Jr. Law Offices of John G. Wolfe, III have renovated and occupied portions of this building since 1973, and have occupied the Pinnix Drug Store's former location since 1986.
