Sacred Heart Catholic Church was begun in 1883 and completed in 1910. It was designated a National Historic Place by the United States Department of the Interior during the pontificate of Pope John Paul II, the episcopate of Bishop Francis Quinn, and the pastorate of Reverend James Streets, in the centennial year.
