In continuous use as a house of worship since about 1708, Plymouth Friends Meetinghouse served as a hospital and campsite for Washington's forces on the way to Valley Forge. Its eastern wing, added in 1780, replaced the original log school. The site was also a center of activity during the Abolition Movement.
