LaSalle Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area in Illinois is a protected state park centered on LaSalle Lake, a man-made lake in LaSalle County. Covering 2,058 acres, or about 833 hectares, the area connects the region’s natural and recreational use with its industrial past. The lake was originally created as a cooling pond for the LaSalle County Generating Station. Today, the site is recognized as an Illinois state park and managed as a fish and wildlife area, giving the former utility landscape an ongoing role in conservation, outdoor recreation, and habitat protection.
