North Oriental Covered Bridge
Science & Tech
North Oriental Covered Bridge, also called Beaver Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge spanning Mahantango Creek in central Pennsylvania near Meiserville and Oriental. The structure is a sixty-two-foot King post span, a simple timber truss design commonly used for short crossings. Its importance rests in both its traditional wooden construction and its survival as a historic rural bridge. Recognized for that significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
