Christine Falls is a 69-foot, two-tier waterfall on Van Trump Creek in the Mount Rainier area of Washington, known especially for the stone Christine Falls Bridge spanning its lower drop and for one of the park area’s most frequently photographed scenes. The falls were named for Christine Van Trump, daughter of P. B. Van Trump, who in 1889 accompanied her father on an ascent of Mount Rainier and, despite a crippling nervous disorder, reached the 10,000-foot level at age nine before going as far as her strength allowed. Debris flows in 2001 altered the falls, scouring the creek banks and changing the upper tier.
