Mrs. Nathaniel B. Hogg was the founder and first regent of the Pittsburgh Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, organized June 10th 1891. She was the first state regent to be confirmed by the National Society D.A.R. and organized thirty two chapters in Pennsylvania during her state regency from April 1891 to February 1898. A descendent of patriots of distinction, she held commanding influence in the National Society and was one of the leaders in the adoption of the Lineal Amendment to the Constitution of the National Society, D.A.R. In February 1898, at the Continental Congress N.S.D.A R. in Washington, D. C., she was elected honorary state regent.
