Hanby-Debnam Cottage was built by John Ranquill Hanby in 1934 to replace a 1910 cottage destroyed by the Great Fire of 1934. The plans were drawn by Mrs. Josephine S. Hanby. It was acquired by his daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne Dudley Hanby Debnam and Frederick Archer, in 1957, and it remains in the family.
