Long Meadow Grove, also called Redwood Meadow Grove, is an accessible giant sequoia grove in Sequoia National Forest near Johnsondale, within the southern part of Giant Sequoia National Monument. Spanning about 340 acres, it includes roughly 125 sequoias more than 10 feet in diameter and the Trail of 100 Giants, a loop through dense old-growth forest. The grove gained special significance on April 15, 2000, when President Bill Clinton proclaimed Giant Sequoia National Monument beneath the Proclamation Tree. Storms, falling trees, and fire have repeatedly altered the grove, including major damage from the Windy Fire in 2021, though notable trees such as Red Chief survived.
